First day in Yarinacocha, Peru. I feel blessed to have been able to come here again, after 8 years. When I first heard the Icaros, the healing songs of local people in the Amazon, I promised myself I am never again traveling without a recording equipment. And this experience also shifted my focus from western classical music to Indigenous musics. I will spend at least three months here in the Amazon, working together with the locals in documenting their musics, and learning, about their way of being here in this world. I am very excited and I want to share what I find out with you all. I am not sure how, but will try to find a way along the road. And more details will follow, soon. But, first, just a few impressions. I feel I am in good hands, and that it will be transformational.
